StainSeed™ and WearSeed™

Elkem Grain Refiner (EGR) is a master alloy containing cerium. This element will form cerium-based dispersoids to work as heterogeneous nucleation points in the steel melt during solidification. StainSeed™ can be used in austenitic and duplex stainless steel to improve mechanical properties in the final product and reduce casting defects. WearSeed™ can be used in austenitic manganese steel to improve mechanical properties in the final product and reduce casting defects.
